Chief Executive Officer, Founder
Scott Upfield is CEO and co-founder of ITC. As CEO since 1988, Upfield
has grown the company from one product to multiple automation products and services
for the insurance industry. He is responsible for providing strategic direction and
leadership for the company.
Prior to starting ITC in 1983, Upfield worked at American Communication Enterprises
in Dallas where he was involved in engineering a digital phone switch.
Upfield serves on the board of directors for Temtex Industries, Inc. and the Dallas
chapter of Young Entrepreneurs’ Organization. He received his bachelor’s degree
in engineering from Vanderbilt University in 1982.
As president, Laird Rixford is responsible for sharing the vision and direction of the company with its customers, vendors and
affiliate companies. Rixford oversees the direction for each of ITC’s products and the company’s sales and marketing department.
Laird joined ITC in 2008 as vice president of product development and marketing when ITC acquired his company Evolution Designs
and its product Insurance Website Builder. In 2011 he created AgencyBuzz, ITC’s automated agency marketing tool. An expert in
insurance technology and marketing, Rixford is a recognized public speaker and has presented at industry events across the
United States. Prior to joining ITC, Rixford provided technology consultation and solutions to banks, mortgage companies,
real estate firms and insurance agencies.
Executive Vice President
David Burelsmith is executive vice president at ITC. As executive vice president since
1993, Burelsmith is responsible for managing the production department and development
of TurboRater, ITC’s comparative rating software. He monitors other areas of the company,
including marketing and sales, for opportunities to improve operations and efficiency.
Joining the company in 1985, Burelsmith was ITC’s first full-time programmer, coding and
designing custom and standard lines products. In 1988 he became vice president of
programming and systems design, managing all products and personnel, scheduling
products and implementing quality control procedures.
Burelsmith earned his bachelor’s degree in computer science from North Texas State
University in 1985.
Chief Financial Officer
Dale Meredith is chief financial officer at ITC. As CFO since 1999, Meredith
manages the accounting, human resources and technical support departments.
Meredith brings more than 15 years of professional experience to ITC, including
three years as accounting manager at Unitrin and eight years as controller at
Bauer Audio Visual. He also served as finance committee chair at Hunters Glen
Baptist Church and treasurer for the band booster club at Plano Senior High School.
In 1987 Meredith earned a bachelor’s of business administration degree in
accounting from the University of Texas at Dallas.
